Fashion show supports breast cancer

Models showed off evening wear at the Moda and Cappuccino Fashion Show .

The Ladies Committee of the Italian Cultural Centre of Durham (ICCD) hosted their third annual Moda and Cappuccino Fashion Show to benefit The Oshawa Hospital Foundation for The Heather Griffith Breast Assessment Centre on April 20.

There were fashions by Melanie Lyne, Churchills-Crossings and Kidz Couture featuring casual, business, evening and prom wear. Additionally, there was food, cocktails and raffle and door prizes at the event at the Oshawa Italian Recreation Club. The fashion show was created in 2010 as a way to honour the victims and celebrate the survivors of breast cancer.

Daffodil Month to brighten up Oshawa

The Canadian Cancer Society daffodil pin.

Cheery yellow daffodils will brighten up Oshawa and the Durham Region starting today as the Canadian Cancer Society launches Daffodil Month.  Held every April, Daffodil Month is a national fundraising campaign of the Canadian Cancer Society. During the month, Society volunteers are involved with numerous activities to raise vital funds for the fight against cancer.
